"It was in July 2008 when I was in India working as a volunteer in an elephant sanctuary and travelling through Asia that I realised that I wanted to work for myself. I have always been inspired to work within fashion as my undergraduate and masters degree were studied within the faculty of Fashion & Textiles at The University of Manchester.

The inspiration for all my designs and collections has been developed from natures' creations such as birds, butterflies, flowers and the natural beauty of women. I have grown up adoring the looks of my elegant mother and three sisters. It is their beauty and style conscious images that have inspired me to develop collections that reflect true Indian beauty and elegance with a modern edge.
My mother grew up in Gujarat and if you say to a rickshaw driver "Lalgate" you will be taken to one of India's most happening and busting fashion hubs, it was at Lalgate that that I decided to pursue my business concept and that's how the name was decided upon
I have a true passion to bring to you, my customer; the best quality products and designs that are reflective of the rich and royal heritage that India once had. My jewellery collections and designs are reflective of the actual jewellery pieces worn by the Maharajas and Ranis (Kings and Queens) throughout the Indian royal past to enable you to feel like a true Princess when wearing a luxury Lalgate piece" |
